Claimed money not received?

A friend of mine has sent me money through his bank account I believe, which I understand takes a few days to process, but I got a text message saying I received money so I had to log in and claim it, I did so but there's no activity saying I've received it and the money's not there. What is going on?

If the payment is not reflected in your PayPal account, please make sure that your email address is confirmed https://goo.gl/5qkUzq. Also, I recommend asking your friend to double check that your email address linked to your PayPal account was correctly entered (the payment might have been sent to a different PayPal account).
