I am looking to sell an item on my website in GBP, however if someone buys the item in another country how does the currency conversion work?
Am I correct in thinking that if the conversion rate changed and I had quote $7.99 on a page (not a button) that if the conversion went against the customer, as they could only buy in GBP, then they would in fact possibly pay more than $7.99
Would it be better to show an alternative buy now button different currencies so the customer knows exactly how much they are paying?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
If your site sells in GBPs, the prices also must be advertised in GBPs, as currency market constantly fluctuates and you would need a real-time feed from PayPal's exchange rate to have your prices up to date. (this could be achieved with Adaptive Payments only and involves advanced coding skills - writing your own app to handle this)
When your buyer is supposed to pay in GBP on your site and their funding sources are registered in USD, at checkout they will be given a choice to use PayPal's currency conversion or charge the funding source in GBPs and rely on the issuer's conversion.
If you are selling just one product, offering multiple buttons, each in different currency, may be a good solution.

Michael
