Is this correct?

So, I recently sold an iPhone because I needed the money. Obviously, since this is a new account, it means I'll have to deal with the whole "payment pending" fiasco. I sent the item via Royal Mail with tracking and it was successfully delivered on 3rd August 2016 at 1:50PM. Buyer left positive feedback on the 5th August and that was that. Sale complete.

The moment I added tracking, E-bay changed their funds availablity date to 05/08/2016 (and it still says it). I believed this date and waited. The funds did not release. After that I contacted PayPal to ask what's up. After a wait, they eventually got back in touch with me and said that they do not support Royal Mail and due to this, cannot verify the delivery of the item basically. And since positive feedback was left, I would have to wait 7 business days (from the feedback date, which was August 5th) before the funds will be released into my account. Is this correct?

Just checking because I want to know when funds should drop. PayPal's site won't say, it just says "try later". Funnily enough, it also said 5th August 2016 originally but changed when the day came.

Actually it should be nothing to do with paypal as its an ebay hold and if you contact ebay they may authorise its release for you.

Also feedback does NOT count for payment release and never has.

Why are my incoming payments from sales on eBay pending and how can I prevent this?

So the advisor I spoke to was incorrect? Ebay said the funds would be available on 5th August and it still says that when I check. PayPal, however, just says "try later" for estimated funds availability

Okay. I contacted Ebay just now. They checked my account and said that it's been released from their end. There is nothing for them to release. I'd have to contact PayPal to resolve this (which I have).

The main reason for this long wait is because PayPal don't support Royal Mail, so they can't check if the item has been delivered. I'd have to use UPS, USPS or FedEx in order to have my funds released 3 days after delivery date. Since I didn't use that, I'd have to wait 7 business days from the date feedback was left. That's what they told me.

As i said feedback does not and never has been considered for funds release.

If you READ my post above and the relevant page from EBAY it does not mention feedback and that is because IT DOES NOT COUNT.

Again FROM EBAY  >>> nothing about feedback as it is not considered.

And ebay can and HAVE contacted paypal to confirm earlier release of a pending payment if they are happy to do so.

So what do I do? Contact PayPal again? Two seperate advisors told me the exact same thing.

Or just wait until it is released when it is due?

If it was delivered with tracking and you have added that tracking number to ebay and paypal (or used paypal postage) then it should be 7 days after delivery which would be approx 10 - 12th August.
