Hi,
I am setting up a website and we want to use paypal, is it possible to set up the shopping cart where a discount is applied when multiply items are bought?
For example we have 5 different items.
1 costs £10
3 costs £20
4 costs £30
5 costs £40
this rule applies for each item it doesn't matter if its the same item or not.
I can't seem to find anything on the help pages telling me I can do this.
Thanks

Hey there, here are some steps for you to follow that will allow you to create buttons for payments. For advanced button customization you will need to log in. To use the button designer, your web browser must be JavaScript enabled. After creating a first button, you can then click Go to My saved buttons and bookmark this page for easy access to your saved buttons.
1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Click ‘My Saved Buttons’ under ‘Selling Preferences’.
4. In the ‘Related Items’ box on the right, click ‘Create New Button’.
5. Select the category for the payments you will be accepting in the ‘Accept payments for’ drop-down menu and fill in all required fields.
6. Select Step 2 and Step 3 for additional features.
7. Click ‘Create Button’.
8. Click ‘Select Code’ to select the button code.
9. Copy the HTML code for your button and paste it into the HTML code for your website.
Or
1. Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Select ‘My selling preferences’.
4. In the ‘PayPal Buttons’ section, click ‘Update’.
5. Under ‘Related items’ click ‘Create New Button’.
6. Select the category for the payments you will be accepting in the ‘Accept payments for’ drop-down menu and fill in all required fields.
7. Select Step 2 and Step 3 for additional features.
8. Click ‘Create Button’.
9. Click ‘Select Code’ to select the button code.
10. Copy the HTML code for your button and paste it into the HTML code for your website.
We recommend visiting the ‘Business’ page for more information about buttons and how to integrate them and use them correctly.
1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click ‘Business' near the top of the page.
3. Under 'Business', select ‘Help and resources’.
4. Scroll down and click 'Visit Button Factory’.
This area of the website gives you lots of useful information to get your website up and running and should you expand in the future it also provides more technical information about our services for your business.

Thanks for this, but it doesn't really answer the question.
This is just a guide input a simple button, it doesn't really tell me how to discount the quantites. Is it a variable I have to add into the "add to cart button"?
Do I have to do it through web payments standard? Pro?
Thanks

Hey there again, All shopping carts provide this service, however you would need to first choose a shopping cart and then follow the carts specific directions to discount offers. You can also do this through PP shopping cart service.

The best one would be to choose a partner solution from below;

Hope that helps, good luck again.
