Digital downloads

Hi there

I want to sell digital download products.  I need it to work so that when the customer has paid for their purchase, they are redirected back  to my site and a download link where they can download the product straight away.  Is this possible?

If it is, which cart package do I need and how do I set it up?

I have a normal 'post item' website and the paypal works superbly for me, so would like to stay with you if possible.

Thanks.

Dear Paula,

My digital download is e-mail size, so all I need from the customer is the email address.

Will I receive the customers' email or do I need to specify this in the optional text-box when creating the Buy Now button?

If that is the case, I would be grateful to receive a code which centers both the text box AND the button.

I have surfed around all over the web without finding a solution to the left-aligned text field...

Much appreciated!

Thanks ,

Paula,

I know this post is now quite old, but I am having the same trouble as these people have been having. Your instructions on 'how to sign up for PayPal for Digital Goods' are not correct. For a start when you click on your link, it changes to paypal.com and the business button does NOT have a list that appears below. There are only 3 large choices - 'Website Payments Standard' - 'Express Checkout' - 'Website Payments Pro'. I have followed the Express Checkout option which takes me to a very complicated process, in which I have to sign up to a partner or add Java or PHP code in manually. I've signed up for the sandbox and tried this, but although I have experience and qualifications in Java programming, I cannot get this to work. There must be an easier way!!!!?

I am merely trying to sell pictures on my site. These are digital and can be downloaded by the buyer. I want to be able to accept payment from the buyer and let them have access to a download button. I could send them the purchased picture by e-Mail, but then it would not be instant for the buyer and that would detract from the on-line instantaneous experience and make them go elsewhere.

This whole process is very complicated for a small trader. I think I need a complete department to sort this one out.

Oh well! Unless you can supply a solution soon, I will have do as others have suggested and go elsewhere for my merchant purchasing solution.
