Why is my money ‘pending’

So I’ve sold an item for £280 In the accounts section it says that I will have to wait 21 days for it to clear. This seems ridiculous a Si need the more meh to s me the item! (Postage will be around £15) Why has it b en held and how many times will this happen? It’s about the 3rd or 4th time it’s happened now. What happens if I sdon’t me it and the buyer asks for a refund or something? Will I be left without the item and cash?

Even if the funds were in your bank account if the buyer did not receive their item or opened a dispute for 'not as described' and won then you would still have to refund the buyer. So you should really read up on seller protection before you start selling so you can risk assess your transactions.

However Ebay and Paypal are 2 separate companies and have 2 separate policies for holding funds for new sellers.
If yours was an Ebay transaction then its an Ebay hold and Ebay authorise when paypal can release the funds.
This is the new seller hold that every single seller on Ebay has or will go through.

Normally for the Ebay hold funds are released when tracking shows the item as delivered + 3 days if you use Ebay / paypal postage.
