Please help, I am at my wits end with this issue and really stressed out. I sold a pair of jeans to a buyer on ebay in good faith and a few days later he asked to return them through ebay by opening a case. I declined as is my right as he was basing the reason for the return on saying they didn't fit his daughter so therefore must be counterfeit, which is obviously ridiculous! Then he sent me several nasty emails through ebay and tried a different tactic by opening a case with PayPal, going with the fake thing again to try to discredit me and be sure of his refund. I spoke to PayPal and was told by more than one operator that he was in all likelyhood not going to win his case and I wouldn't have to give a refund. I found the receipt and could also have produced a letter of authenticity from the head office of the jeans brand but was told that it wouldn't help my case to prove they were 100% genuine (which they absolutely are). The buyer has been grated a refund as he responded stating again that the jeans didn't fit so must be fake so PayPal has decided with him and said he can send them back to me. I have just spoken to an operator at PayPal who has told me that the buyer was asked to return the jeans I sold him to my home address; however the buyer has sent them with CollectPlus, which is not a service which comes to your door as far as I know? I have tried the tracking number in the CollectPlus website and it doesn't work (or isn't active yet) I have also just been down to a CollectPlus store which was shut (on a time when it should have been open according to the CollectPlus website) to ask them how I actually receive the jeans back safely. Where we live is a block of flats and couriers often don't bother leaving calling cards, this is a worry as there are loads of CollectPlus stores, how will I know where my jeans are? I am really concerned that I will not receive this item back to me safely and in the meantime this buyer will still receive his refund, leaving me with nothing, no jeans and out of pocket for over £50. The operator at PayPal said that even an 'attempted' delivery constitutes a refund for the buyer and another operator told me that even if someone other than me signs for the parcel the buyer gets a refund - surely this is a flawed system as anyone could keep my parcel if it was delivered somewhere and I would never know? I am so worried about this and need some advice as since this started I have been told completely different things by each operator and I would like someone to clarify this delivery issue as I feel I have no rights whatsoever as PayPal's customer?
