Hi all please advise.
I recently sold a galaxy s8 plus inc box all as new on ebay. i had damaged the screen. ( hairline crack at the top ). i decided to sell the phone on ebay to recoup some funds, and buy another one through the company i work for. The damage was clearly marked on the advertisement, and the buyer was aware of it!
The phone was 3 days old when i damaged it, and all as new ( appart from the screen damage). The buyer purchased the phone, i took the money from paypal, and now he has openned a case a week later, saying " the phone has colour lines over the screen and keeps turning off". i advertised the screen as broken and no returns accepted. The phone certainly never turned itself off or had colour lines on the screen!!!!. Sountds to me like the buyer may have submerged it under water, and damaged it further. Either way, you'd notice colour lines on the screen as soon as you turn the phone on, so why did it take a week or more, for him to notice?
Anyway, i am now owing paypal money back to the account. Money i dont have in my personal account after paying bills etc. Regardless of my own circumstances. This guy is taking me and paypal / ebay for a ride.. The phone worked brilliantly bar a hairline crack on the screen, now he wants to send it back with much greater damage and faults? i dont think so buddy. Where do i stand here? its a joke.. i want my account openned on paypal!

Hey Scottjezzard.
Welcome to the Community.
I'm sorry to hear what has happened recently with an item that was purchased from you.
If a case has been filed against you on this transaction, our claims team would fully investigate the payment and both parties statements before making a final decision on the outcome of the claim.
It is hard to know what way the case would go as we cannot discuss account specific information publicly. If your buyer has damaged the item themselves after having the product, the case would be found in your favor and the funds would be released back to your account.
If you would like to speak with our claims team directly to determine the possible outcomes for your case, you should try reaching out to us directly on 0800 358 7911 and we can assist you further.
David.

Hi David
Thankyou for your reply. Its a shame there are buyers like this on Ebay looking to take advantage of the system. i have sold 2 items on ebay in in the last 18 months, and rest assured, i'l have to be desperateto sell again.. Its a buyers market for sure.
i havnt heard anything since the 28th of may from paypal or Ebay, but my account is still in debt.. How long is it before the case times out, and the account is ballenced by ebay? I want to be able to use paypal, but dont have the money to put back into an account with such a huge debt against it.
