I just got an e-mail from 'Paypal security team' urging me to update my account. It sure looks real but seems to be a scam - the webaddress is .ca and not .com in additin, nothing is wrong with my account and it certainly does not need updating, and paypal does not send out this type of messages as far as I know, so I assume it is a pretty savvy scamming attempt.

the same thing myself today reported it to paypal.. copied and pasted the webaddress to them.. i thought it looked funny.. i almost typed in my name and PW but i look up and thought Hmmm so you are not the only one.. and i have been with paypal for few years now and i dont recall them asking for updates and if they would do it, it would be done after you log into your account on the REAL PAYPAL website.
ALWAYS REPORT SPAM/SPOOF mail to paypal.that way they can resolve the issue and get rid of the HACKERS..
