Seller will not respond. What can paypal do?

Hello all,

I've bought an item on ebay and paid via paypal. The seller "accidently" refunded me and asked me to pay again on Paypal. Probaby foolishly, I did pay again. Now the status of the item on ebay is "refunded" so no easy recourse there. The seller hasn't responded to any of my messages since december 20th. If the seller simply stays silent, what can Paypal do to force him to refund me, it's a fairly large amount of money, in the several hundreds.

Thanks very much in advance

Probably nothing at all.

You're entirely on your own.

Despite what eBay or  Paypal may say online, they don't lift a finger to help you.

I was stiffed out of a purchase during a postal strike which extended my attempted dispute/ resolution beyond the 45 day period stated for case resolution.  The scumbag seller/cheat/thief   lied in several emails, demanded extra shipping fees for resending the items and even then failed to send the items.

Despite unusual circumstances (postal strike) eBay stuck to their stated policy and left me hanging. Paypal simply failed to intervene.
