I too have been scammed by Wellnee through their dodgy website. Has anyone managed to get a refund. They ignored my instant messages to cancel my order and I cancelled the illegal way they tried to keep charging my account. I started a dispute and PayPal contacted them and only then did Wellnee contact me through PayPal to say order can’t be changed as items shipped. I assume this company is in China but looks to be American. I’ve seen loads of complaints saying their orders didn’t even arrive so if mine does arrive I’m wondering if I refuse to accept it and have it returned to sender what will happen? Do I need to phone Paypal? Why do they allow companies to use them and scam buyers?

Chinese Web Sites or on Social Media ads easy to spot (once you know the below signs) so buyer beware.

Paypal would not be able to check every individual seller / merchant / company in over 200 countries worldwide that adds paypal to their website to accept payments.

So they give some buyer and some seller protection. However that protection can never be a 100% coverall so you need to read it so you can risk assess your transactions.

They do stop bad companies from using Paypal when enough claims start rolling in.
However as they are in China (mostly) then its easy for them to just start over with a new name, so stopping them does not really do anything.

The best thing is to not buy from them in the first place, to recognise them -

1. No return address on the returns policy. The site will look as if its in your country (where they despatch goods from) but they will ask for returns to go back to China (returns depot) at a shipping cost often more than the item is worth.
2. No contact telephone number. if you click on contact the most you will get is webmail or an email address.
3. Rarely company address information.
4. Great pictures of items at bargain prices that turn out to be tat.
5. Fake reviews.
6. Google and you can often see previous company names as they change them once enough claims roll in and Paypal stop them using their services and start over.
7. Send fake tracking numbers to win item non receipt of item claims.

This company is stealing from clients - order 1 item and get charged for 3 or more. No communication until they are contacted by PayPal and ship your cancelled order before responding through PayPal. Their website is set up to rip people off and despite many complaints from many PayPal clients, PayPal continue to let them trade using their services. Their processes are set up to scam as many people as possible.

Course they are stealing, if you read my post even if paypal cut them off after xxx many complaints they just change their name and start over.

Its you that is allowing them to continue by not researching before purchasing and not risk assessing your purchases.

Buyer beware.

I got scammed by a China company once, tossed the tat in the bin and learnt from it, which is why I post the above to help you recognise them but generally avoid purchasing from Social Media sites.

Make sure you escalate to a claim, if you lose because they posted tracking, then post back here for more advice.

Purchase date 23 November - I lodged a case with PayPal on 24 November there is a tracking number in the info for the case but it doesn’t state what date that was entered. I’m not worried about receiving tat to throw in the bin my major complaint is I purchased 1 item and was charged for three. As soon as I saw those charges against my account and details were for three automatic payments, I contacted both PayPal to stop payments and followed the company’s process to cancel them order. They did not respond to my cancellation request until PayPal contacted them re my claim. They then responded to say sorry too late we have shipped your order (3 items not 1) so no adjustment can be made to your order.

Who knew there were different kinds of disputes? I’ve never had to open one in the many years of using PayPal. The info I have from PP is that I’ve filed a case!

Well when you click to open a dispute in the resolution centre you have to select the appropriate one ie item not received  / item received but not as described / unauthorised transaction etc etc. So which one did you open?

 I too have been caught with this company Wellnee on the 20th November in a Black Friday deal on Instagram, more fool me for ordering 1 box knee pads for £13.50 with free shipping then receiving 2 invoices, the first for £17.60 which was my order plus shipping, the next with both items on - 4 boxes of knee pads not ordered - so  £56.35 later I raise a resolution and was told there was nothing Paypal can do, neither could my bank as it was Paypal who were dealing direct with a company called who send you round and round in circles. Where do we go from here, they must be making a fortune of their scams with no recall. Pretty appalled this can happen
