Undisclosed total amount

I recently encountered an issue with a seller who didn’t disclose the total amount during the PayPal checkout process. Now, they’re refusing to issue a refund. 1. What steps can I take if a seller doesn’t want to refund me under these circumstances? I already escalated the issue with PayPal and it's been more than 30 days and the issue is still open. 2. Is there a specific PayPal rule or guideline that addresses the requirement for sellers to disclose the total amount before completing a transaction? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

If you don't agree to the amount then you don't click to pay during checkout OR do you mean you paid and he asked you for extra?

If so then paypal covers you for non receipt of item OR item received but not as described, so you can open a dispute if either apply and if not then its between you and the merchant to resolve.

I just realized the total amount after completing the transaction for a digital product.  I didn't open the products or the website of the digital product at all. At checkout on the merchant's website, it only mentioned a "$10 annual plan," and I overlooked the fine print. When I chose PayPal, it didn’t display the total amount; it only showed my credit card, the option to use my balance, and the merchant's name. I assumed the final transaction would be confirmed on the next page, but instead, it said the transaction was completed right away. Now my PayPal balance is gone, and my credit card was charged. I escalated the issue with PayPal a month ago, but there’s still no resolution. Does this take long to resolve? I'm looking into contacting the FTC regarding this. I was charged $120. It may not be much to some, but that's a lot for me.

Hello! PayPal closed my dispute in favor of the seller. PayPal states that the "details as to when the billing agreement would be charged was disclosed." However, my issue was that the seller did not disclose the total amount being charged to me in the PayPal checkout page. Is there anything else I can do? Is there a government agency I can contact to get this resolved? I'm not well versed with US consumer laws but Section 5 of the FTC Act talked about deceptive act or practice. Thank you!
