Someone has added new email and phone number to my account

Hello everyone,

I have a paypal account that I barely used over the last 3 years. However, today I received a bunch of emails from paypal saying that someone has added a new cellphone and email to my account (from{removed]). Strangely, I couldn't login using my email because it said that the email doesn't exists. I had to use that email again to create another account, and I have no idea what happened with the previous account. To be honest I have no idea what to do. The paypal email says "If you didn't add this email address, please let us know straight away" but when I click the link it asks me to login and as I mentioned before, I couldn't do it.

I would appreciate if someone can give me some advice regarding this issue.

Thank heaps.

You shouldn’t have made a new account (or maybe should close it) because they might not be able to associate the email address back to the account and contacted customer service as guest caller (without logging in) or through social media to explain what happened:

Log out of all account and visit https://www.paypal.com/cl/smarthelp/contact-us

Scroll down to click “Call Us” option on the bottom.

Click “call us as guest” link.

Or reach out to PayPal at Facebook or Twitter:

PayPal on Facebook

PayPal on Twitter

When an email address is removed/de-registered, it is freed up to open a new account with, which you did.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
