Someone hacked into my paypal account, paypal is giving me the runaround.

Someone hacked into my paypal account and performed 38 transactions which were charged to my linked accounts (credit card) and bank account. I filed a report under 'unauthorized transactions' and it was rejected by saying "the transactions were not unauthorized" (!?). Calling paypal, they said they have to re-categorize them as 'goods not received' in order to get a refund. I'm skeptical. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm not getting straight answers from Paypal.

Hello @eptnews

Thanks for joining the PayPal Community!

I understand that you recently filed an unauthorized dispute for 38 transactions, and it was denied. I'm very sorry to hear about the frustration this has caused. If the transactions were created through an automatic payment that you had previously established, this could have been why the dispute was denied. In that situation, you'll want to reach out to the company where the automatic payment was through to file a dispute. If a subscription was not established, please request that your unauthorized case be appealed. Filing an Item Not Received dispute can sometimes help, but I only recommend switching to this case type if you find it was a transaction you had originally submitted. You can review the different options for contacting Customer Support on our Help Center here: How do I contact PayPal's Customer Service?

I hope this helps you obtain a refund!

If you paid attention to what I said, I said someone HACKED into my account. Trust me this is the case and not automatic payments. Wouldn't you think someone who is in Italy who bought $500 worth of product x 38 times within 1 minutes of each other, using my account, who is based in Canada, is a hacking job? In any case Paypal finally reversed 28 of them and am waiting to receive the funds to my credit card. The other 10 are still pending based on another mistake Paypal made in handling this issue. They switched the status of the issue to another category which was incorrect and now I have to wait for them to fix that.
