Reporting Unauthorised Pending Transactions - Why do I have to wait?

I have 2 pending transactions that appeared today on my Paypal account. The delivery address is for an address in Barcelona and certainly not my own.

Why does Paypal not allow you to report pending transactions? The resolution centre says that I need to wait until the transactions have processed. Surely it would be prudent to block the pending transaction rather than wait for it to complete?

The 2 transactions are for 397 euros and 442 euros, so not exactly small amounts of money to be without, even for a short time, with no real guarantee that I will get the money back.

I have emailed the Spanish speaking seller, spoken to my bank, tried emailing Paypal, but all of this seems completely uneccessary if I could just void them at source.

Or have I completely missed something?

Hi I recently received a dept letter for PayPal which I do not use, maybe twice and it is registered to an email account I made up to recover my regular Gmail account therefore don't use and I was shocked to hear this as I have no clue how, where, who or when I managed to run up this debt. I believe it was fraud. I did a bit of digging and found on the person's Facebook was they were from Eastern Europe and their Facebook page has a screen record of a lot of money going into a PayPal account and they were selling something identical to a bunch of fraud on a monthly basis on my bank account. Theres too many similarities and as I don't use PayPal, I don't check it. Why would I? Good luck with your troubles community members 🤞🏻🤞🏻
