Hi all. I received a notification from PayPal that someone sent me an invoice to make a payment of USD 500 for purchasing a anti virus software which I didn't make. Could I just leave it like that with out paying or how do I cancel or report this?

Got the same invoice for $499.30. Don't see a cancel button and forwarded the email to phishing@paypal.com.
Don't know what else to do.

Same for me. $499.30 on Jul 5, 2022.
There's also no Cancel button on my interface.
There is a suspicious note at the bottom of the invoice as well, which I suspect leads to a bogus phone number:
Note to customerYou have successfully made a transaction for your Bitcoin (BTC) Using Paypal, you Charged the amount mentioned in the INVOICE. This transaction may take 12 hours to appear in your Bank Statement. Do give us a Call for any dispute regarding the Payment and issue a Refund at [Removed. Phone #s not permitted]/span>
I, too, don't know what to do next.

THAT is the scam, the NOTE is the scam. They get you to call them and then they try to get access to your bank account. Just ignore the invoice.

Same thing here today. $499.30 from Bitcoin Exchange.
I reported it to phishing. Not sure if I should do anything else except ignore the invoice, I suppose.

I personally did not click on any email links (I'm a cybersecurity consultant lol), but what sketches me out is the invoice shows up as a real charge in my account that I need to pay.

Same, although my invoice is now gone (it still shows as PENDING on my main page, but it it says it is no longer available when I click on it from there.)
I, too, never opened the actual email that I received.
