PayPal Credit Should have better practices

I tried making a large purchase using PayPal Credit. The purchase was unknowingly over my credit limit but it still let me make the purchase. Now PayPal has pulled the entire amount out of my bank account directly. On the PayPal credit website it says if a payment is declined I'll receive a notification right away. I don't have the money to make this direct purchase and now they're telling me I need to make a dispute with the seller. I want the item I purchased I just didn't want to have the money pulled out of my account a day later. PayPal should take responsibility for this but they are putting the burden on me this is so upsetting.
