PayPal Account Restoration Help

I respectfully requesting that funds/account be lifted. I am not necessarily requesting that my account be re-opened or allowed to continue to use the PayPal service, as I have already taken my business to your largest competitor and am no longer in need of PayPals services. I have previously requested a review/appeal of my case which was denied. Although I still disagree with the decision to deny my appeal I will abide by it, however because I feel that holding my funds for 180 days for a non-fraudulent violation of PayPals Acceptable Use Policy is excessive, and perhaps a punitive abuse of power, I will be filing complaints with the following agencies on Fri. Dec 22, 2023: The United States Federal Reserve [URL]http://www.federalreserveconsumerhelp.gov/complaintinfo.cfm?info=1 The Better Business Bureau: [URL]https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/complaintlink.aspx All complaints will be filed online and written copies will also be sent via certified postal mail. I understand PayPal's need for holding funds for credit card chargeback purposes, however I feel that any reasonable person would conclude that holding my entire balance for 180 days is excessive and may be viewed by some as punitive or as already stated, an unnecessary abuse of power and perhaps even contrary to the laws of some states. Please be aware that replying with the standard rhetoric of how this is part of the terms of service that you agreed to, will not satisfy my request, or deter me from filing my complaints with the agencies listed above. It will be up to those agencies to determine if PayPal is operating within the law, abusing power, etc. I am simply seeking a resolution that is fair and in the best interest of both parties. Thank you for your time again in looking into this matter. Please forward this on to the correct internal department that handles PayPal accounts. I look forward to hearing back from you once my case is reviewed and the limitation of account/funds is reconsidered.

It has been so long since I've used this piece of crap site that I don't remember when I did or what it was for, but I log in today to see my account has been locked and banned...  on the resolution screen in giant letters it just says I can no longer use PayPal....

After being transferred to 3 different drones and I am told there is no specific information written down anywhere regarding my account and what it was that was so grievous that they had to close my account.

I have never been arrested for anything in my entire life, I am an honorably discharged disabled veteran, and an elementary school teacher.  I do not live a life of criminality, and I am incensed that something like this can just be done in such an arbitrary manner.

What, if any, are my courses of action? I am never using this service again, but I want to know what it was that they think that I have done.

PayPal does review accounts regularly, and any concerns with security, violations of the User Agreement or Acceptable Use Agreement, compliance obligations, etc., could lead to a permanent restriction. Additional information beyond what would have been provided to you in a notification and/or email would not be available due also to security concerns...in other words they do not give you an exact reason, they just direct you to the user agreement or acceptable use policy. I guess having a reason wouldn't make any difference if they have permanently banned you.

You can rarely appeal a permanent ban but if you want to try an appeal then contact customer services.

They 'may' pass it to the back office but the chances of the appeal being successful are slim. Paypal state that the decision is not made lightly and once made is usually final.
