Just had an email with what is purporting to be a PayPal transaction statement for bitcoin in the amount of $486.58 from "Lennon [Removed]" (email address deleted). Feels like a mistaken email not a scam, I checked my account and there is no matching transaction. This appears to be US based and I'm a UK customer.
A Google search finds nothing about this 'company' anyone know who they are? Should I be worried? I'm inclined just to delete the email.

Thanks, initially I couldn't figure out the scam, which is why I posted my question. Alarm bells were ringing because it was to 'Dear Customer' but there was no link to follow. Looking closer I spotted spelling mistakes and from your comments I now see that they expected me to view it as a dodgy transaction and call their 'support number'. I would never have called a US number anyway, so dodged that bullet, coming directly to PayPal instead to check and subsequently here. My instincts were correct but good to be sure. Thanks again for following up so quickly.

If its a spoof then NEVER USE ANY LINK OR ANY PHONE NUMBER.
Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.
Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.
Also if they ask you to call the number in the email then it would be fake paypal agents trying to scam you for money to 'fix' something.
If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email / download an attachment OR phone them on a number in an email, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
