Hi. I’m in the middle of a deal. Bought tickets for an event. Payed with goods and services for obvious reasons. The seller sends me a message that her account is temporarily blocked and that she has to give additional k formation to PayPal in order to get the funds released. Although I bought with goods and services protection, it feels weird. Can PayPal do this ? Or am I being scammed ?

Funds may be on hold if she is a new seller.

Or it could be that she needs to supply paypal with some more identification etc to receive payments if she again is new.

All you can do is wait for the tickets and if they don't arrive or not as described try the dispute process.

Always best to fund that sort of payment with a credit card to give you an extra level of protection.

My creditcaed card is linked to my PayPal account. And for safety reasons I used goods and services for protection. So I think I’m good protection wise. Family and friend don’t offer any protection as far as I know. I am not sure she is a new account user. But she is receiving more funds as she is selling multiple tickets. She told me she has to wait approximately 48 hours to get it solved . I will give her till Monday noon to come up with an answer otherwise i will open a dispute. Fingers crossed

Still in the process. As I'm protected by goods and service, I thought to wait it out. She send me aan screenshot of her accountant (which I highly doubt) which says that the funds are to be released on August 5. Does those mails look like this ? I know that the probability is high that it is all a scaIMG_8831.jpeg

Sounds like the new seller hold as per link.

HOWEVER...

If its marked as completed in your Paypal account then you have paid. The fact its pending on the sellers account is between them and Paypal.
Funds for new sellers are held for 21 days but released more quickly if they provide a tracking number (delivery + 1 day).

Even if the funds were withdrawn to their bank account they are still obliged to issue a refund if they lose a dispute. The hold is to protect Paypal from bad sellers that refuse, meaning Paypal may have to refund the buyer instead putting the sellers account into negative until they pay Paypal back.

If they refuse to send item/service then you could file a dispute for non receipt.
That may impact their paypal account in some way if they continue doing so.

Send them this link.
