This has been the longest 6 week battle with anyone. I decided to sell online, unfortunately, some sites I chose, only use PayPal as a payment method, so despite the measures I have gone to avoid a PayPal account all these years, I got one, and it is as horrible as they all say. Made an account, recieved $300 in funds, restricted. Spent days calling and emailing and was told to refund all my customers and get a business account. I got a business account. Recieved about $500 in just over a week, account limited, documentation was provided. Despite legit documentation, permanently banned. Two weeks I spent, constantly calling at least 3 times a day to get a reason, along with a lot of emails too, no response for two weeks (so much for 3-5 business days), and I was unable to trade at all during this time. After all of this, it was apparently just a flag in the system about my “email” (which doesn’t make sense), anyway, I got my account back and continued. Two weeks later, it was overdue for my funds to begin to be released from the 21 day hold. Did not happen. Messaged customer service to ask how the releases work as the release schedule showed they should be available. Got absolutely no response besides an automated robotic message saying “your problem was solved please end the conversation”. I continued to send messages, all of a sudden the exact amount I said was suppose to be off hold, my PayPal balance was suddenly negative to that exact digit. The next morning I called customer service to ask about this negative balance, and where my funds were. The agent only looked into the negative balance and “fixed” it, then she hung up on me when I questioned the held amount. She had not fixed it which , she made it worse, way worse. Logged in to withdraw my funds so nothing terrible could happen again due to all of my bad experiences already, account permanently restricted again and over $300 completely invisible in my held amount. I immediately called customer service and asked about all of this, she told me my ID is invalid, despite them already verifying it the first time and saying it’s acceptable (government issued photo ID card). She told me to provide another form of ID (which I don’t have as I’ve never left the country), and for my bank documents. I told her it’s been verified and I found it strange that this all happened because I asked for my funds to be released, as per their statement in their own terms and conditions, because before that, it was completely fine and all verified, ready to continue trading. She refused to give me any information and said I’ll hear from them in 3-5 business days (so another few weeks in other words or not at all). Even had the audacity to tell me to hang up and stop speaking to her and asking questions. All my complaints to their complaint email, also unanswered over this whole time frame. May I also add, eBay have pulled this one word for word a few times. This is honestly THE most disgusting company I have ever seen be able to operate. A company that can’t even stick to their own terms and conditions. If anyone knows of any class actions open against PayPal Australia, I would like to know. The more the better. They deserve to be paying every cent of interest they earned from stealing funds back to everyone they’ve stolen from, along with the amount they’ve stolen, at minimum.

Just to add to this thread, after this post it wa unlimited again. Yesterday was my 60th day since opening my account. So I asked if there’s an option to get my funds released, and you guessed it, because I asked for help, permanently banned AGAIN. This time, with over half a thousand dollars inside.
