Dispute wrong item, damaged, Return courier cost.

Hiya, I ordered a car door via breakeryard for £168 U.K. They sent the wrong colour and damaged door. I contacted them to return the door (only 13 miles from me) BUT they responded with “please post to Southampton, Over 200 miles away. I ask if they will pay postage..they repeat “post to southampton” You have to use a specialist courier for it and the postage/courier costs are more than the door. No communication with seller. I opened a dispute, they say the same thing..post to southampton. I escalated the claim…PayPal say. “Congratulations, you have been offered a full refund, please post to southampton”. Argghhhh…. Any help?

2 separate issues.......

1. What paypal can do for you....

Paypal state this >>
IMPORTANT: You may be required to return the item to the seller or other party we specify as part of the settlement of your claim. PayPal Buyer Protection does not entitle you to reimbursement for the return shipping costs that you may incur.

You also have the option to do a chargeback via your card issuer instead of a Paypal dispute if you funded your Paypal payment via a credit card.

2. What the legal option is ....

If the item is damaged then the company should pay the return postage costs.

Contact the company again and state that unless they confirm they will reimburse you for the return postage costs you will be taking them to the small claims court as they legally have to accept the item back and refund you all costs.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.
