Scam website charge - dispute closed in minutes

Google shopping directed me to a website that looked legitimate for the purchase of a smart thermostat. I selected Paypal as the payment option and chose the credit card I wanted to use. It went back to the website and said payment failed. I got no chance to review the order, submit the order, etc. I received no email confirming the order. My credit card was charged.
I'm sure it is a scam site now. I opened a dispute saying unauthorized charge because 1) it said payment failed and 2) I didn't confirm the order. Paypal in like 5 minutes said it was an authorized charge. There is no button to appeal or change the dispute.
I called 2x and it said "Is this about an unauthorized charge" and I said yes. It said it didn't hear anything and hung up.
How do I get my money back?

A dispute for an unauthorised transaction is telling paypal that your account was hacked and used without your consent to make that transaction.
Paypal would check IP addresses and devices and close the dispute if it was you that made the transaction which it was !!
You are only allowed 1 dispute per transaction so the only way you can get a second dispute opened is to contact Paypal and see if they will open a second dispute for you.
If not then if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then consider contacting your card issuer and see if they will help you with a chargeback?

Well, maybe I picked the wrong dispute reason. However, I have a copy of the website. They said payment failed when obviously it didn't. Paypal's "system" is unimpressive. This is clearly fraud. This shouldn't be that difficult. I thought Paypal added a layer of safety. Obviously not.
When I called, it could not understand me saying "yes".
Google shopping should be held accountable too for including a scam site. I reported this to them also.

They do protect you if you select the correct dispute option type.
If you were not sure there is plenty of help in the HELP section above or you could have checked on here.
As I said its x1 dispute per transaction so all you can do is ask customer services if they will open a second dispute for you.
Paypal gives 'some' seller and 'some' buyer protection but its up to us all to risk assess our transactions, even credit cards have terms and conditions and don't cover you for everything.
Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.
1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.

I messaged them.
The fact is, there is not a dispute reason that matches what happened. They told me my card was not charged.

If the transaction didn't go through then hopefully the funds will drop back into your credit card account.

Doubtful. It is a scam site. They say payment failed so you move on and hopefully don't notice that they charged you. There is no way I am getting the item as the transaction didn't complete and I received no confirmation.,
If they determined it wasn't unauthorized I should be able to dispute it when I don't receive the item.

Thanks. As an update, I was able to contact PayPal through messaging and they called me. They opened a case so hopefully it will get resolved.

I had the same experience. I called the bank and asked to stop payment but they said they can't. PayPal is also very complicated
