Hello everyone, I recently fall a victim of fraud. A friend of mine contacted me saying that he has a friend who would like help in receiving his payments. Since I trusted my friend, I agreed and gave him my PayPal email. I received teh payments and remitted to him through M-Pesa. Two day later, I found a negative balance to my PayPal. It is at this point that I realized I had been scammed. The person sent money to my PayPay, asks me to withdarw for him. Then he goes ahead and file a case that I did not supply a product and he wants a refund. How do I deal with such a case. Am so stressed.

You chose to make the transaction for an unknown 3rd party and took that risk.

So someone has to pay Paypal back.

Alright, that was risky. Right, I just learned the hard way. In money, dont trust anybody. Now, I don't have the money to pay all that the scammer scammed me. What happens to my PayPal account?

Best to reach out to customer services and ask. However normally they give you a certain amount of time to clear the debt.

If not they pass it on to a debt collection agency (if they have those in your country) to try and recover the debt.

You 'may' have some limitations on your account if you don't pay.

Thanks for that. I'll seek some alternatives, the person who took advantage of my trust must pay. I will just need to involve local investigating agencies.
