I'm a new member. I just received an e-mail from what looked like PayPal complete with with a PayPal invoice ID. It looks so legit. I panicked and called the number on the e-mail. They had me install an app (AnyDeskRemote) to give them access to my phone. Fortunately I was in a zoom meeting and had to cut the call short. I immediately un-installed the app, looked up Paypal customer service and called PayPal. I'm still on hold with them. My next step is to lock my credit reports, then call the FBI and report it. And PayPal just hung up on me. This is why I don't use PayPal any more. Ugh. Be wary of scams folks. I'll keep trying to get a hold of PayPal.

Paypal never put their phone number in emails for just that reason, too easy for scammers to send fake emails.
They always direct you to log on and go to their site and scroll down to help/contact to obtain contact information.
