As stated above. It had a note attached to it saying it was in response to a crypto purchase I made, but I despise the whole crypto thing and would never even touch it. I panicked and closed my original account. I didnt authorize it and im terrified that paypal will make me pay the amount in the estimate, which I cannot do. Can I contact paypal and get this sorted or am I **bleep**?

Was it an invoice?
If so anyone can send an invoice to your paypal account.
Scammers harvest email addresses and send them out to as many folks as possible hoping that 'some' of those email addresses are linked to paypal accounts and so will show on those paypal accounts.
They hope you will accidentally click on them to pay.
If there is an option then just cancel them, if not then just ignore them until they time out.
If its an invoice then no money is deducted until YOU pay it.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

from what I saw it was an estimate, not an invoice, and from what I gathered nothing happens unless you accept the estimate which I didnt.

I dont really know if there is a difference between an estimate and an invoice. I know it only showed in that email and in my paypal notifications before I panic closed my old account.

Same 'ish' thing really >>>
Send professional estimates to give your customers the expected cost and description of your goods or services. PayPal estimates let your customers easily make approvals or request changes.
Creating estimates is similar to creating invoices. Just like invoices, you can add your logo, save item descriptions, work from templates, and customize the estimate number. You can save estimates as templates for future invoices and estimates. Learn how to create invoices. What happens after I send an estimate?
When you send an estimate through PayPal, your customer will receive an email notifying them of the estimate and allowing them to view the estimate details. The customer will be able to accept the estimate or request changes.....so just do NOT accept it.When a customer accepts an estimate, you’ll get an email notifying you. You’ll be able to convert the estimate into an invoice.
