Hi,
Like a lot of people on this forum, I have been the victim of the whole order then get a different cheaper item. I opened a dispute with the company because I never received the item. We went back and forth for 20 days and then paypal stated I had to escalate my claim or it would be closed. I did so. The item then came in the mail and was not even what I ordered. I let paypal know, and included pictures. Paypal stated I must return the item even though I was sent the wrong one. That would be fine except the cost to send this back to China is huge and currently the post office says they cant accept packages to China because of the virus. I feel the company should have to pay return postage since it was their mistake, or resend the correct item. Now that paypal has stated I must return the item, I can no longer write anything on my claim, only the return tracking number. My text messages to paypal go unanswered. This company from China is one of many doing this while bait and switch thing. But from what I can see, paypal does NOT protect the customer, and is actually encouraging companies to continue this fraudulent practice by letting their practices continue. I mean I was shocked how many people have left posts here and yet Paypal ignores what is happening. In a previous post, someone had given some links to places we can lodge a complaint. Maybe the FTC? Can someone send me that link again please? and any other place where I can lodge a complaint?
thanks

Hi,
I am in exactly the same situation.
Paypal not too interested to follow up.
Sent a $5 garden sprayer instead of a $30 Dolbin power sprayer.
Lots of promises all along. Sending back not an option so I will just have to accept the loss.
Ebay should ban all trade from this seller.
I also try to find UK/European sources for my purchases, but a lot of these companies are using UK sites as the source but after payment you realise you been conned to a far east company. This should also be look at by Ebay.
Lesson learnt.

PayPal isn't doing anything in my case. I have been trying to move them into action since April or May.
They insist on the garbage-value item beeing shipped back to china (tracked) to a non existent address.
Main problem here nobody at PayPal is actually looking into it. PayPal just sends around prefab e-mails with standard procedures. (if they reply at all, i've been having absurd difficulty getting people to respond) They don't actually deliver any kind of tailored support at any stage in this disagreement. They don't care you're beeing ripped off.
There's an overwhelming amount of evidence against this seller, even just in this topic, the amount of claims this account has in Paypals systems behind the proverbial curtains must be astronomical.
Yet they do nothing.
I'm getting a creditcard and phasing out paypal completely.
Creditcard transactions are MUCH easier to dispute. Even if you continue to use Paypal with a creditcard.
Paypal's "buyer protection" is a hollow promise.

Not sure if this will work for everyone. If you speak with the fraud department at PayPal, they should have a courtesy refund they can give people. (I think that's what they call it). They have 'X' amount of dollars they can issue to any customer. So if nothing happens, you can ask for the courtesy refund of $30.00 or so to cover the cost of the item.
You can also use that courtesy refund to pay for shipping to return the item with tracking and insurance if you really want to go through with it.
It's not justice by any means towards this scam company, but at least you will not be out your money.

@terrynshed how do we get a hold of the fraud department? And that's a great idea. I am going to try to pursue that.
