I sent my ID to PayPal to change my name and got the email saying my account was blocked because I created it while being under 18 years old.

"We've reviewed the documents you submitted and determined that you were under 18 years old when you opened your PayPal account. You must be at least 18 years old to sign up for a PayPal account. From now on, you can't send or receive money with this account.

If you have money in your PayPal balance, you can use it to refund your customers if needed. You can also withdraw any remaining funds from your PayPal account by clicking 'Withdraw' near the top of the page.

If you've outstanding buyer complaints and you want to refund your customers, you can do so via the Resolution Center in your PayPal account.

Now that you're over 18, you can open a new PayPal account using another email address.

Here's how to sign up for a new PayPal account:

  1. Go to www.paypal.com.
  2. Click on the "Flag" icon at the bottom right corner of the page and select the country you presently reside in.
  3. Click "Sign Up" near the top right corner of the page.
  4. Choose your account type.
  5. Enter the required information and follow the instruction on-screen to complete the process.

You can start using your new PayPal account right away."

It says I can withdraw my funds, but I tried and it failed. How can I get my money back into my bank account? Or at least create a new PayPal account and move my funds there? Please help

Thanks for your reply! I already messaged PayPal in Twitter, Facebook and the Messages Center and I am waiting for the response.

Do you, by any chance, now if there's the possibility that I am allowed to withdraw funds or move them to another account, without having to way 180 days?

Thank you again for the help.

Hello, I have exact the same problem, but I want to keep this paypal account.
Is it even possible? or just forget this one and get a new one while try to withdraw the rest of the money on it.
Thanks!

Hi @kerokerokero,

In most countries, it is not possible to reinstate the limited account once you turn 18, however, you may be able to create a new one so the User Agreement can be accepted. You would need to contact customer service to allow a review of the situation to see if a new account is permitted, and to discuss disbursement options for the existing balance. Contact options can be found by clicking Contact at the bottom of the PayPal website.

I hope this is helpful!
