Dear Community,

I have been a casual Paypal user for a few years. I'm using exclusively to Pay Service Providers. All of them rather established and legitimate businesses such as: Apple, Netflix, New York Times, Airbnb, Air France, etc.

I'm went tru all of my transactions, and I really can't find anything that would look suspicious. I'm not using Paypal to accept payments. I've never had any dispute with any other Paypal user.

I've reached out to customer services, and the agent was borderline rule, and said that as a matter of policy they were not able to give me a specific reason, but that according to him I had violated the terms and conditions of Paypal. But I'm still scratching my head, since my usage is very normal.

I'm attaching my past 90 days history, can you help me spot a transaction that would result in a violation of the Terms and Conditions?

Thanks in advance,

Most common reasons for an account limitation are:-

1. You have a previously limited account (temporary or permanent) and you have tried to open a new account and not resolved the issues with the other account first.
2. Using a VPN.
3. Not being in the country where you have opened a Paypal account.
4. Being under 18 / minor account.
5. Having 2 Paypal accounts or more of the same account type.
6. Not having your legal name on your Paypal account.
7. Selling items (often virtual or digital) that Paypal consider a high risk of disputes/chargebacks OR items that violate their acceptable use policy.
8. Using the friends/family option for sales transactions to try and evade Paypal fees and risk of disputes.
9. Violating their acceptable use policy as per link.

If none of those then...

You need to contact customer services to resolve any limitation or account specific issues.
Click help / contact bottom left of Paypal pages for options available for your country.

Or have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

Hmmmm I think I’m doing 2 problematic things: 1: when working I need to use a VPN I’ve never thought I’d have to disconnect before using PayPal. 2: I do travel internationally and I’ve probably used PayPal while on the road. Would that serious enough of a violation for PayPal to terminate my account ?
