Unauthorized surprise auto payments many merchants with no subscriptions sold.

I noted that many merchants I made one time purchases from show with automatic payments were authorized. ~40%

For each purchase that is "one time" from a merchant that sells no subscription services; is it on me to go to my account and make sure some process did not mess up and make PayPal believe terms were different?

Why do I not see on my home screen these fake subscriptions? It would be no excuse on my part or extra work to turn them off.

Figured merchants may have a different take on the matter.

Hey there @Baddesignedsite

Thank you for posting and welcome to the PayPal Community Forum!

I appreciate this must be concerning.  A pre-approved payment authorizes a merchant to charge you whenever you make a purchase on their website without signing in to your PayPal account. As a buyer, you must agree to the pre-approved payment before a merchant can take a payment from your PayPal account. This is something that's set up on the first checkout with the merchant.

Please ensure you are reading the terms and conditions of the purchase carefully before you check out. Your pre-approved payments or billing agreements will be listed in the Wallet section of your PayPal account. For further information on this, see: What is an automatic payment and how do I cancel or update one?

I hope this helps. Enjoy your day!
