I've been trying to close out my Paypal account for months and its still giving me issues.
The help chat box provided me with this statement -
Your account appears to be locked or limited. This will need to be resolved prior to closing your account.
I was told they blocked it permanently for any future transactions. However, even though I can't run any transactions, they refuse to remove my banking and credit card information. Its been well over 5 months to my recollection that this has been going on. If I'm forbidden to have any transactions through paypal, then why in blazes should I keep an account with them? And why should they have my information against my consent?
Can anyone tell me how to permanently close my account so I can be done with this poor business establishment??

So basically, Paypal wants to hold our account hostage so that if they get hacked, our accounts get compromised. My only goal, is to close account and never do business with paypal again. I don't have any intentions but the fact that they hold our accounts hostage and leave us vulnerable to their security systems. Yeah... not buying it. At this point, I'll file through BBB and change my account number and credit card number, because I don't trust them to retain my information anymore if they are being malicious in their business practices. They must be as proud as those overseas account scammers in India. At least in India there is a whole 95% of the population (+) who don't like those scammers either. Wished that some hacker group out there placed some kind of Banner on paypal's webpage for their poor practices that even paypal won't figure out how to remove. See how they like that kind of treatment.

Unfortunately you won't be able to remove anything from your Paypal account if its permanently limited.
Paypal limits the account to stop you removing anything from it.
They don't want you to be able to use anything linked to it to try and open another Paypal account against their rules.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
