I have started a software consultancy, I plan to get money from customer in US using paypal to me in India. If the customer has a dispute and I don't agree to refund back.

  1. Can paypal get money from my Bank Account without my authorization. This is assuming they have transferred the funds to me.
  2. What actions can paypal takes against me if charge back amount is very high and I don't agree / pay them.
  3. Is there any case it is going to effect my bank account, i.e. is there any chance paypal can block my bank account in India Website.

Thank you

1. In relation to disputes, claims or chargebacks, no but your PayPal account balance will go negative and the next time you receive payment, it will go to pay down the negative balance. If you initiate a purchase transaction, PayPal will add the negative balance to total amount to charge you. This will be displayed at check out before you finalize payment.

2. They can permanently suspend your account and sell your account to debt collectors if you do not pay it back. Even if you closed your account, you are liable for the debt. You are liable for transactions that are later reversed. You agree to pay back, to be liable, by the fact that you signed up for a PayPal account, you agree to the terms. If you do not agree, close your account.

3. PayPal can contact your bank about your actions which in turn ‘might’ affect relationship with your bank. Please read: https://www.paypal.com/in/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full#actions-restricted-activities

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
