JPMC RE PAYPAL unknown charge to account

Two payments went out of my bank by JPMC RE PAYPAL, one £20 and one £30. I have not purchased anything online and I do not have any subscriptions. This payment does not show up on my transcations either. What does it mean

Report it to your bank as unauthorized if the transactions do not appear in your PayPal account.

I just had a similar experience. The answer was that JPMC are PayPal's bankers, and a payment I made to an individual via PayPal a few days ago just showed on my bank account today with the JPMC payment described as a direct debit. This was because years ago I authorised my bank to make payments to PayPal, and this is how direct payments to individuals via PayPal show up. Hope this helps.

My recent experience with JPMC regarding 2, what looked like fraudulent withdrawals, from my bank account plus the setting up of a Direct Debit without my prior authorisation…, turned out to be legal, the 2 sellers are now using JPMC as their clearing bank for all their PayPal transactions and your purchases. The main seller is EBay UK so be aware I had a couple of days talking with my bank, deleted the Direct Debit and refunded me the money but 2 days later they reinstated the payments which is when I found this thread which led me to PayPal, my Wallet, Automatic payments!

I’ve now deleted all my current automatically setup pre-authorisations instructions within my PayPal account with the knowledge that I will have to again authorise and further online payments using PayPal…, more importantly I will have regained control of my PayPal account and who has access to my bank account!
