So PayPal changed their buyer protection eligibility terms a while ago.
Now you are not eligible for buyer protection if the item you buy is intended for resale.
My question is: How does PayPal know if an item is bought with the intention to resell?
Thanks in advance for any answers 😊

Hi, I don't have a precise answer. But maybe the is some sort of algorithm that keeps track of your purchases, if you keep buying the same item, that has the same description, seller, transaction amount, and then correlating that to your account's incoming transactions, money that you receive for a slight markup. Keep in mind PayPal has a lot of information linked to your behavior and all those data points can actually predict with a good amount of accuracy what they are looking for.
It should be some sort of AI that will determine the probability of your activity being the one of a reseller. And then maybe an actual PayPal risk assessment employee calling the shots to take action over your behavior.
Just brainstorming here, as I said, I have no actual information about this.
