Foolishly Scammed Online

I feel foolish but I’ve been scammed online and had my PayPal case closed saying there was nothing suspicious with the transaction. It’s more about stopping a user from doing this to others than getting my money back. It’s a criminal using the PayPal platform to receive money he’s scamming illegally from others. I can’t seem to get my case looked at without just receiving generic auto replies. I’ve been registered with PayPal for over 20 years and perform multiple transactions a week. I’ve never had to lodge a dispute before so I’m lucky but I am surprised and disappointed that my case was not taken seriously. Is there any way to reopen and escalate a case?
