I tried to create an PayPal account as I’ve started uni and a lot of people transfer money using PayPal. I created an account months ago and it got permanently limited straight away and then I tried today to see if my account was working and it isn’t. I haven’t done anything wrong and don’t understand why it has been limited.

Hi @Liz534 and @Holdinghandscom

Welcome to you both.

When an account gets limited it is generally for verification purposes. Are yous being asked to provide any information on your account? I would make sure that you are opening the account for the country you are resident in and putting your correct legal name on the account. If you are opening an account and it gets permanently limited then I would imagine there is something else going on in the background. When an account is permanently limited a full review of the account is done as these decisions are not made lightly.

Always read the email that you receive regarding the limitation as this will give you more information on why the limitation has been placed. I would also recommend going to the Resolution centre on your account to see if there are any steps there to be completed.

I hope this helps,

Paula
