Account limitation after submitting documents to confirm my identity

I have my account since 2008. I was using a nick name and decided to change it to my real name. When I was requesting a change of name, paypal asked for some documents to prove my identity and I sent the documents as requested. Shortly thereafter they blocked my account claiming that I reported invalid documents and they don't want to restore my account. I got a message today saying their decision is final. Has anyone been through this and knows what I can do to solve this problem? I just wanted to enter my real name and now I've lost my account and I'm disappointed with paypal's response...

Sadly if you open a legal, financial account with a nickname that is what happens.

Any documents submitted for a name change have to show the name on your paypal account is your legal name BUT you either had an up to 2 character typo OR you have changed your name for legal reasons ie marriage. As neither of those applied your account was limited for breaking paypal rules and not providing valid legal information when you opened the account.

I would agree with you if my account had no information other than my name. In my account it is possible to find my two emails, a phone number and also my tax ID information which is the same as the documents I sent

Makes no difference, to use a paypal legal financial account you have to have your legal name on it.

Do you open bank accounts with a nickname or apply for credit cards with a nickname?

Access your account and click on the option to change the name. There you find an option called "Update your name" with the following description "Use your full name instead of a nickname, for example" and that's exactly what I'm trying to solve, you're not helping at all, I think you're is just responding to as many things as possible here in the community to increase your ranking...

If you have something to say that contributes to the solution of the problem, I'll be glad

Maybe you will believe a Paypal moderator yourself?

Scroll down passed the advisors post to the one posted by Paypal Olivia on this thread.

She states............

If the name on the account is not a name that was ever your legal name, it is not likely that a name change will be possible. Names can be changed on an account in the following circumstances:

A legal name change

A minor misspelling

And in the case of an account for a registered business, a change in the designated contact for the company.

Changing from a fictitious name (or, as in your case, a name unrelated to your legal name) to a legally recognized name is not something that is supported. If the account is not currently limited, you may wish to close the account and open an account using the correct information.

As I said, you're welcome.

However I will add you to my list to not to provide any help in the future as you don't appreciate someone giving up their time to help you, someone that does NOT make paypal policy just informs (as best that they can) how it works.
