Why is my PayPal Sandbox account order in a pending status?

Why is my Sandbox PayPal order in a pending payment status?

My account is verified but still getting Pending payment status.

Hello,

Thank you for posting to the PayPal Merchant Technical Support Community.

If all your Sandbox Payments are pending and you are not sending your payments as Authorizations, the other possibility is that Payment Review and Negative Testing has been turned on in your Sandbox Account. (If you send your payments as Authorizations they will be pending until you capture the payments.)

Review this document on Negative Testing 

  • Log into the developer dashboard at https://developer.paypal.com
  • Click on the Sandbox Account
  • Click on the three dots and edit account
  • Click on Settings
  • Make certain that Negative Testing and Payment Review are set to No
  • Changes are automatically saved
  • Close the window when finished

If you turn on Payment Review all payments regardless if they are a sale or authorization will be pending.

I tried what you suggested but I am having the same issue.

Hello,

Thank you for responding. If you are using Order, Authorization, Capture, its important that you send the request to capture the payment. Once the payment is captured, the payment will show as completed.
