Subscriptions: how to add a free month and how to test discounts in sandbox UI?

Hi,

I have clients with subscriptions with different billing cycle lengths and I need to be able to add 1 free month to their subscription. I learnt that pausing will not update the billing cycle and therefore is not useful. I read about discounts but I cannot find them on the sandbox UI, does anyone know where to find them and if they could be used for this specific case?

Good day @raquelhortab,

Thank you for posting to the PayPal community.

We understand the importance of allowing customers to try your product before committing to regular billing cycles. To facilitate this, we offer a trial period where subscribers can try your product at a free or discounted price. This allows them to experience the value it brings and make an informed decision about whether to continue with the subscription.

To learn more about our free subscription and discount options, I recommend following the guide provided in this link: https://developer.paypal.com/docs/subscriptions/customize/trial-period/. It will provide you with detailed instructions on how to set up and manage these trial periods for your customers.

Additionally, PayPal offers customized subscription options that you may find beneficial. These options allow you to tailor the subscription plans to meet your specific business needs. To explore these options further, please visit the following link: https://developer.paypal.com/docs/subscriptions/customize/.

Furthermore, if you would like to test your subscription in a sandbox environment before implementing it live, we have a guide available on how to do so. This will help you ensure that everything is functioning as expected and allow you to make any necessary adjustments. You can access the guide through this link: https://developer.paypal.com/docs/subscriptions/test-subscriptions/.

If you are still facing issues, please create an MTS ticket via - https://www.paypal-support.com/s/?language=en_US  with the detailed information and error details.

Sincerely,

Vaishnavi
