Paypal refuses to fix the incorrect total on my 1099 tax form

The total on my 1099 form is $6k above the payments I actually received as a merchant. Having sifted through the monthly reconciliation report, Paypal has included the shipping amounts debited from my credit card paid Shipstation — get this — as income! I spoke with a tax advisor on this matter and I am told this is completely false, and illegal.

Paypal customer service has punted the issue for my accountant to solve, which of course he cannot,  to which my response is to send the matter to the Attorney General's office. If there's a moderator reading this: Paypal cannot add debits from my credit card to pay Shipstation as earned income. It is ludicrous for me to pay income tax on a debit charge

Thanks, but as mentioend in my complaint, customer service punted the issue to my accountant. Paypal is taking no responsibility for making this obvious error

Fair enough but there is nothing we can do for you, only customer services can sort out account issues.
