I keep getting emails to verify my social security number pertaining to goods and services for IRS reporting. I don't own a business or buy/sell products & services for profit. All of my deposits are from rebate applications - Ibotta, Checkout51, coupons.com. I receive rebates upon purchasing product through the applications and transfer to paypal after acquiring a threshold balance. I would rather use paypal instead of transferring directly to my bank account from multiple sources. Why do I need to provide my social security on my account since the rebates I receive are from products I've purchased with after tax dollars?
