Where's my refund

My activity shows I received my refund today and that it was paid into my Paypal account. However when I looked at my balance it is showing zero funds.

How did you FUND that paypal payment to the seller in the first place?

From my bank account.

ok i will try again, how did you fund that paypal payment to the seller from your bank account??

Sorry, I had to go out. The payment came directly from my registered bank account rather then a card if that makes sense. In the past refunds have appeared immediately into my PayPal balance.

If you didn't fund the paypal payment via a debit card but via bank transfer then   >>

Have you bought anything and paid for it via paypal since the payments should have gone in??

The reason i ask is that if you have funds in your paypal balance and then buy something then paypal will always take from those funds (as that is now the default funding source), rather than from your normal funding source eg bank account or card.

To check go and click on the word "details" next to any recent paypal buying transaction and see if they were funded from your paypal balance ie buyers payments rather than your normal funding source.
