Refunds & Bank Accounts

I purchased an item from eBay prior to Christmas and a short while later had my wallet stolen resulting in new cards being issued. My linked bank account is also different to account I used to purchase the item. I had to return the item and get a refund, which was done yesterday. I haven’t received any funds and my paypal account is showing no activity as far a refunds go. Does the fact I have been issued new cards or a linked bank account different to the account I used for purchase cause a problem at all?

Did you fund the paypal payment to the seller with a debit card or bank transfer?

Is it the same bank account that both old and new cards are linked to?

Transaction was completed with debit card. Both old and new cards linked to that same account. As of yet there had been no sign of activity through PayPal or that same account other than an email from PayPal to say the refund has taken place.

If old and new debit cards belong to the same bank account then you should be fine and the refund should process through ok.

BUT once marked as completed it can take up to a week to process back there (paypal say allow 30 days but I have never waited longer than a week).
