Refund to a closed credit card.

Hello all,
I really need your help.
I purchased some clothes on November from an online shop and paid with paypal, with my debit card (linked to my bank account).
I never recceived the parcel and the seller refunded me via paypal on January 7th. Since I have paid with the debit card, the refund was automatically sent by paypal to the original payment method, my debit card. It usually takes about 4 days after I see that the payment was refunded to my paypal account, until the money is available at my bank account.
But on January 8th, I lost my debit card and issued another. Now I a worry that since the refund will go to the cancelled debit card, I will not receive the money (the bank account is open, and the same one).
Since the debit card was in use and open on January 7th, when the refund was sent to my debit card by paypal, and got cancelled the next day, is it possible that the refund went through and the money will appear to my bank account shortly?
The status of the refund when I log in to my paypal account is ''complete''.
I spoke to my bank, they can't do anything since the card i closed. They told me to speak with paypal.
Please help me!

When PayPal refunds money back to a card, the card issuer/bank receives the funds and will post them back to the appropriate account. If they do not do this, the funds are usually sent back to Paypal. PayPal will then post them into your PayPal balance. The bad news is, the process can take 30 days or longer before PayPal gets the funds back. PayPal recommends you contact your card issuer and let them know a refund was sent to the old card so they can assist you by locating that refund and/or expediting the return of funds.
As you have already spoken to your bank, looks like you'll just have to wait it out. Unfortunally as no one here can view or access user acount details, should you have additional questions/concerns, suggest following up with PayPal's Customer Support direct.

Normally as long as the debit card was once associated with your bank account it should still process back there again ok.
Advice is voluntary.
