I cancelled a purchase because the seller wanted to substitute a different product after I had asked questions about it before buying it.
He had not told me he thought it below standard before I paid for it.
He only told me after I had paid for the item that the item I had paid for was not up to thier standards and they had a different
model number for me instead?
The item was offered on ebay as 'free post and package' so there shouldnt be any reduction for post as it was stated as free.
Fast Lenovo M82 SFF 3rd Gen i5 Quad Core Max 3.6GHz 4GB 250 WiFi Cheap Win 7 Pro item: 252362078930
I have had over £30 deducted from my refund for a product I did not recieve as the seller was trying to fob me off with a different model which had got poor reviews by an independant reviewer on google.
Why has over £30 been deducted?
I am very upset that this purchase has gone wrong from the start.
I am 72 yr old pensioner and losing over £30 means I cannot buy another PC to replace one that is now out of date and no longer supported by Microsoft.
Ebay can see the messages to this seller that passed between myself and the seller and will see that there was no mention of inferier product until I had paid for it.
The pc is still on sale I noticed so it looks like the seller is pulling a fast one on its buyers.
Before agreeing to accept the replacement I checked it on google and found it had poor reviews as being sluggish and had poor performance.
I refused and asked the seller to cancel the sale which he did straight away.
Paypal does not say it will deduct any money and I feel that I have been cheated twice.

If you were charged then it sounds as if the seller did not use the ''refund'' option OR deducted a restocking fee before processing your refunds.
Paypal does not charge you for a refund.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Yes it does. I have just been charged a transaction fee after ebay sent a refund when a seller did not supply an item.

Contacted pay pal. They said fee was correct, but they would refund it as a courtesy, which seems pretty good customer service.

Woops. Spoke to soon. Instead of returning the fee, paypal have cancelled the refund. So, instead of being £5 down I'm now £100 down. Talk about headless chickens.

Hi nicholasz2004,
Thank you for contacting the PayPal Community Forum and welcome as a new member!
Your question is very account specific and we would be unable to tell you why this has happened over a public forum. I would suggest contacting us via Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK/, Twitter - @AskPayPal, email or phone and we would be happy to advise.
