Paypal Return, seller not collected item from the post office

Recently I opened a return through paypal and Paypal accepted it as the seller was trying to stop the return because they knew they had ripped me off. So I posted it back to the seller tracked (I had to pay the postage, even though I was clearly misinformed in the purchase) and it was dropped at the seller's post office as the seller didn't answer the door to the post man or was not in.
However, since the seller was previously refusing to allow a return I have doubts whether they will collect it from the post office and that it will get posted back to me in 18 days, even though I don't want the item but my money back.
If this happens will paypal refund me the money?

Normally if you have done all you can to return it but the seller does not pick it up then the claim is found in your favour.
I would wait and see if he picks it up and if not give paypal a call.
