Monarch Airlines refund

I paid for a return flight on Monarch via Paypal on 3rd Jan 2017.  As it is over 180 days am I unable to make a claim?  I cannot get through to anyone in Customer Services to ask as the automated system does not cover this query.

The UK number..I Googled it. Freephone. She was no use tbh. They are gonna have to honour it in end cos no one will use it

Ditto - I too struggled hugely with the Robot test.  In fact I was denied 'entry' three times.  But a Scot living in Yorkshire doesn't give up easily when money is involved!

Exactly same problem for me that we booked in February for family flights in late October so over 180 days. Let me know if anyone gets any information particularly given that the BBC comment looked positive that PayPal might view this Monarch collapse as an exceptional event and refund.

I was also told yesterday by Paypal that the 180 day limit excluded my claim. The BBC site suggests Paypal will take into account the special circumstances of Monarch customers.

Please let us know if the time limit is waived.

I'm in the same situation. Paid for flights in January for October through PayPal so over 180 days ago. PayPal advised me to contact my bank as there were no funds in my PayPal account and the full amount of the flights was debited from my bank account. However it turns out that my PayPal account has a direct debit set up to my bank account and so payment didn't go through my debit card. The bank say they can't help as it's a direct debit not a card payment. Luckily it's only £205 & I do have insurance that will pay but they will deduct £95 excess.

Had the same answer . I booked last year for my flights so they will not refund. PAYPAL are going to loose a lot of customers and tarnish their reputaion irrevocably.

After reading about the BBC comment on their website I've messaged PayPal to see what they are going to do for payments made over 180 days ago. If I get a reply I will post it on here.
