Lengthy refund time after cancelling payment?

I purchased an item on eBay (for £170) on 26 February, however the seller didn't complete his paypal account properly so I then cancelled the payment. A refund has been issued (on 27th February) but I have yet to receive the credit back to my bank account (paid via debit card). Its now 6 working days since I was allegedly refunded. Can someone please let me know how long I'll need to wait until I receive the refund in my bank? I called paypal earlier and was told to call back on Saturday (12 March) after what would be the 14th day of no show. Can someone please advise? Thanks
