If a payment is never processed, when does it get refunded?

Hello -

I attempted to purchase an item through a business's website using PayPal. The payment was never processed by the vendor, and as far as I can tell they no longer operate their account at all anymore - and I have been unable to reach anyone at the company for 3 weeks.

Since ordering, I have emailed and called requesting a refund, but have received no reply.

How long will my payment remain pending before it is automatically refunded?

How can i report this vendor so that this does not happen to other people?

How long it stays as pending is up to the merchant but a lot of them have a system where if a payment is not picked up after 30 days then it is cancelled.

However you talk about being refunded. Normally payments are not made until the merchant despatches the goods and pending changes to completed, so your money should still be in your account.

However when i paid for an item x2 by mistake....DUH, I just rang my c.c. company and the pending funds were released by them back to my account.
