How do i remove my bank account from PayPal?

 I have tried to remove my bank account from PayPal using instructions below, without success.

Are these instructions out of date?

 1. Log in to your PayPal account.  

2. Click Profile near the top of the page.  

3. Click My money.  

4. In the 'Bank accounts' section click Update.  

5. Click Remove next to the bank you want to remove.  

6. Review your account information, and then click Remove.

The instructions are valid, if the bank is being used as the funding source for a PayPal payment that is currently in process, then you won’t be able to remove it until the payment completes.  If that's not the case, next step would be to contact customer support direct for assistance.

Is your bank currently being used as the funding source for a payment that is currently in progress?

If this is the case you wont be able to remove it until the payment is complete
